For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Peggy,I too have a lot of acquaintances, but literally NO close friends. I miss the days of calling a close girlfriend for a day of shopping and lunch and girl-talk.I don't know what's happened today to relationships, but the close one's seem to be few and far between for most of the women I meet.
Hmmm... My heart is weaved to desire deep authentic relationships. I enjoy real authenticity with people and I find you get that through cultivating a safe place to be real and truthful. It takes time, and effort, it's filled with pain, and much joy... it is worth the cost.I love that God is using my blog to create this same community. If you lived closer, I'd be sure to have you over for coffee.... <3
Deb, I have wondered that too... where are relationships these days? Why don't people take the time? Yes, those close ones are few and far between for sure. Sometimes the closer you get to people the more they pull away~ that has always puzzled me. Hugs~Manda, your comment made tears come to my eyes. Oh, how I'd love to come for coffee, but that may be a long trip from Oklahoma to Canada! But, oh how I WISH! Hugs!
I know how you feel....I need some close friends myself. I do have one very good friend though.
