Boiling Frog Syndrom
Many more times that I care to admit, I have been that frog. The sad reality is that although the frog in the analogy had been thrown in the pot, I have willingly ran to it and climbed over the side.
After being in the boiling water for a while I was able to get out~ God and His grace carried me... but, before I knew it, a second time I was stepping over the side and back into the pot again.
Sin will take you further than you want to go. It will keep you longer than you want to stay.
When we finally walk away from the boiling water, the sin, we look back and realize that most of the time we have gone farther than we thought we would go... and we stayed much longer than we imagined we would.
The most painful part aside from separating ourselves from God, is the fact that we sometimes hurt other people in our experience. When we turn aside and choose to say no to getting into the pot we sometimes leave others in the wake that we are leaving.
We need to repent to our Abba Father.... ask forgiveness of others and then choose to walk in His ways.
It's not easy, and sometimes not even what we really want to do. But it's best.
1 Sam 15:22 To obey is better than sacrifice.
