Pride: unreasonable and inordinate (beyond normal limit) self-esteem

Do you have any issue with pride? Do you think yourself better than others? Maybe you excrete pride when insecurity is actually what's hidden inside? I believe we all deal with issues of pride in our lives on occasion, whether the size of a mountain or a mole hill. God tells us He does not like a proud heart. A heart that is unforgiving, unrelenting, stubborn, arrogant and haughty. We are taught as young children to be proud of ourselves for our accomplishments. But this is a different kind of pride. It's self-loving and hears no correction. Pride is a sin. It separates us from Him. To get rid of pride you must be willing to bend, maybe even break if necessary. Ask God for forgiveness and then ask others for forgiveness too, if need be. Turn from your prideful ways and acknowledge Him and follow His Word and His ways. It's not easy, and it may not feel good in the process, just as pruning at the time may hurt, but in the end, if we don't give up (with Him) He will be the reason we bear fruit in our lives.

Leviticus 26:19 I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze.

1 Samuel 2:3 "Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed.

Job 41:34 He looks down on all that are haughty; he is king over all that are proud."

Proverbs 16:5 The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
